St. Dalby, Denmark

East of St. Dalby bays scenery so beautiful. The roads are narrow on a real Postman Pat-like manner.

14 days into May, both Rape (Canola) and Barley are perfect for photography – and will surely be yet another 2 or 3 weeks time. So the trick is just to knowing their places and to wait for the weather and cloud formations to form as wanted. Oh, and then not being at work of course. Some seasons, this is actually the biggest challenge.

To exploit the photographic opportunities to the extreme, I wandered around in the Barley field, following the tracks, and ended on top of it. The clouds seen in the distant background, may not seem heavy wet, but it really had a lot to deliver.

There I stood with my equipment packed into a rainproof backpack, and was soaked holding on to my fully extended tripod. I suddenly remembered the weather forecast not only promised rain – but the opportunity for thunderstorms as well …

I quickly got away from the tripod, and waited for the clouds to pass.
